A Critical Component on Boats and Other Vessels
Consider “Marine Hose” to include all flexible hose, tubing, ducting, conduit, exhaust, connecters, etc; installed on boats and other vessels. Marine Hose connects, services and protects almost critical equipment and systems on the boat. It conveys its fluids, vapors and gases; and protects its wiring, cables, etc. Essentially, only the integrity of the boat’s hull has a more encompassing effect on its operation and safety. In fact marine hose often connects to holes in the hull, and acting as an extension of the hull into the boat, it should have the same integrity. The failure of marine hose on a boat can have catastrophic effects; like explosion, fire, flooding, sinking, affixiation, etc. Although we seldom hear about such high profile tragedies, hose failures could be the root cause of malfunctions on boats that just disappear. More routinely, we hear of boats being Disabled, which can be caused by the failure of marine hose connecting critical equipment and systems. The results can be far worse than inconvenience, whether it’s off shore or near shore. Unfavorable winds and sea conditions can easily drive a disabled boat onto the rocks, shoals, reefs, etc; or they can sweep a boat off shore (say into the Gulf Stream with its 4 knot northerly flow). During my years in the US Coast Guard as a search and rescue pilot, I witnessed many disabled boat incidents that turned into tragedies; and there is no way of knowing if a hose failure was the root cause. For example, the internal delamination of a marine fuel or water hose can be the root cause of an engine failure.
Therefore, at Trident we take the subject of Marine Hose and the long term job it must perform, very serious. We do everything practicable to ensure that Trident Marine Hose is not complicit in equipment and system failures on boats. We design, build and supply only the “highest quality” marine hose; that delivers the “best long term performance, durability and reliability; with the greatest standard conformance, certifications and consistency; year after year”. Let this be our definition of “highest quality marine hose”.
All of our marine hose is guaranteed, and our signature hoses (for the most critical applications) are guaranteed for 5 to 10 years. These have an expected service life of 10 to 20 years. Considering the low cost of the best marine hose compared to the high cost of the equipment it serves and protects; our hose is the best insurance deal we can imagine. Considering the small difference in cost, and the great difference in robust quality between the best marine hose and the least; our hose is the best deal based on value. Trident offers the best and highest value marine hose available.
